Steady in the Storm

Last night I experienced a 12 hour tropical storm and as the winds blew and the waves crashed, the sounds and looks of the storm were very similar to total destruction. The truth is that my senses and my feeling were lying to me... I had no prior experience with a moment like this, so I thought this would be the cause of my demise. And right there in the middle of that thought God reminded me, "Daughter, didn't I tell you had plans for you...the ones that prosper you and show you hope and a future. This rain (in your life) is necessary to clear out all the undesirables. The people and things that have connected themselves to you during the sunny days...this turbulence isn't for you its for them. To help you better identify those who will stick closer to you than an brother." Similar to the story the prophet Isaiah says foretells of

"a king will reign in righteousness and rulers will rule with justice. 2 Each one will be like a shelter from the wind and a refuge from the storm, like streams of water in the desert and the shadow of a great rock in a thirsty land."

He speaks of the clarity that comes from Jesus, the son of righteousness and justice, who brings peace in the midst of life's storms. Who provides an anchor for you to rely on. He never speaks about his feelings, only that he would never leave you alone. The only times Jesus was actually by himself physically, he went away from people to be alone with the Father. There, in the presence of God, that his feelings are recalibrated and brought back into alignment with the heart of God.

Here he learns,

"3 Then the eyes of those who see will no longer be closed, and the ears of those who hear will listen. 4 The fearful heart will know and understand, and the stammering tongue will be fluent and clear."

For me this was an awakening, as I could feel the Father whispering- "Be careful not to evaluate your feelings in the midst of a storm. Feelings are temporary and circumstantial. Feelings aren't facts. Feelings will distract you from God's Truth. Feelings will rob you of your peace." These four statements couldn't be more true. Feelings always FEEL so REAL but the truth is they are many times false evidence that appears to be real.

Here is HOLY, stand steady in the storm. Equipped, prepared, knowing that Better is Coming! Better hearing, better understanding, better opportunities, better partnerships, better articulation, all around BETTER!.
